Commonly referred to as SEO, search engine optimization is as critical an element of any on-line development and strategy as there is. In a nutshell, if you can't be found by potential customers or decision-makers when they do a Google search, it doesn't matter how nice your website or other on-line material is.

It should be the goal of every company to appear not only on the first search engine results page (SERP) when their most important keywords are searched for, but desperately try to get within the top 3 positions. And getting to number one is like grabbing the golden ring.

Optimizing a site is an ever changing tactic. You need to keep an eye on your competition and make adjustments based on what they're doing. Some simple analytics can aid you. Plus, as Google and other search engines change their search parameters and the algorithms they use, on-line marketers need to consider tweaking their SEO tactics.
